Our Story

Catherine and Garrett matched with each other during the tail-end of the Pandemic in April of 2021. At the time, Tinder became a way for people to find connections — when connecting in-person wasn't necessarily easy to do.

Although they matched, they didn't continue the initial conversation. It actually took a stroke of luck, and a recommendation from a friend, for everything to change. In one final attempt with the App, Catherine took a chance and gave her friend her phone to see if they could find someone right. Her friend found Garrett while scrolling through and knew of him from regularly visiting a local coffee shop called Common Grounds. Catherine messaged Garrett shortly after and awaited a response…

Well, Garrett answered the following morning and the two began messaging again. This time around, their exchange continued back and forth for weeks. Garrett eventually asked Catherine out on a date, after connecting on the subject of Isle Royale National Park. Ever since their first outing at the Burl and Marikka's, the two have stayed by each other's side, as best friends and as partners.

Garrett proposed to Catherine in March of 2024, surrounded by the snow-capped mountains, grand villas, and soft waters of Lake Como, Italy. The two have grown together throughout the years and are incredibly excited to celebrate October 11th, 2025 with their close friends and family.
